Bindas Movie Review of Stanley Ka Dabba

Director Amol Gupte is very magical with children. and that is because Amol looks to be as much a psychologist as a moviemaker. after writing 'Tare Zameen Par', he directs and write 'Stanley Ka Dabba', another heartwarming movie about kids just being kids, with all their cares and carefree abandon. and adults just being adults, with all their idiosyncrasies, quirks and secret anguish.

The beauty of the movie lies in its sheer authenticityu and simplicity. the movie creates a slice of life from the pages of any and each school in small and big town in india. where children just want to have fun and teachers want to be the proverbial killjoys. of cource there're some exceptions, such as the famous Miss Rosie played by Divya Dutta who generously sprinkl conversation with terms of endearments and encourage each and every glimpse of creativity in the children. the bigest bugbear however is sir Babu bhai Verma played by the director Amol Gupte who is more intrested  in gobbling the children food rather than teaching the subject hindi. Stanley becomes his pet peeve because he never seems to have his dabba, still end up his food with his friends. why? because he is the most famous boy in the class and hid friends simply adore him. needless to say, Stanley missing Dabba becomes a metaphor for his mysterious life..

The other mainpoint are the sterling performances. Almost all the adults have created movie perfect portraits of the several types of teachers all of us have grown up with. but in the end, it is the children who walk away with all the laurels, especially young Partho as Stanley remains with you, long after curtain call.

Don't miss this nuanced and rich soul curry for both, the sdults and the young heart. it's very nice movie to watch.

Bindas-news : Zarine Khan's catfights with Sonakshi &Katrina

Bollywood actress Zrine Khan crossed into cinedom with the movieVeer which did not exactly veer towards its success.

Bollywood’s new actress Zarine some tabloids seem to think so, who was quickly dubbed as "Fatrina", courtesy her generous size and also lauded with the sobriquet of being "the poor man's Katrina Kaif" is now collecting acclaim for her song 'character dheela hai' number with Salman Khan in the Anees Bazmee helmed movie 'Ready'.

Meanwhile, she is also sacking a fair share of publicity for her so-called catfights with Sonakshi Sinha and her stinky equation with Katrina Kaif.

Expectantly, Zarine Khan is burning away on all cylinders refusing such tattle and dismissing it as "all nonsense." States the actress Zarine Khan in a tabloid quote, "Sonakshi and I have always been very cordial with each other. Katrina and I go to the same gym and when we bump into each other, we talk. She is my senior and I respect her for the standing that she has in the industry today. We may not be the best of friends, but there is certainly no problem between us.”

Presently, she is joyful at riding a crest of popularity for the movie 'Ready' number that has whipped up quite a chartbuster buzz. "I didn't know it would catch on with people so quickly but with Salman, anything that he does becomes a rage," blowups the Zrine who does not refuse that she bagged the song on Khan's recommendation.

And she is supremely proud of being referred to as a "Salman discovery." Says Zarine,"With Salman around, I don't have to bother about anything. He makes sure, everything is in place."

Steady comparisons with Katrina, however, may have crumpled her morale. Ms. Zarine says cautiously, "I don't know if it is good or bad. But it is important to have your own identity in this profession. The industry does not want clones."

Bindas News : Will the movie ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ be Abhi’s silver lining?

The upcoming movie ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ has managed to make a lot of pre-release buzz. First of all it was the remake of the cult song –‘Dum Maaro Dum’; after the people of Goa were upset with the moviemakers for allegedly portraying them negatively, thankfully that has been put to rest before the movie’s release on Friday. The necessary question however is whether the movie will live up to hype? And more specially –will this movie finally break Abhishek Bachchcan’s jinx?

As at a recent press conference Abhishek Bachchan looked quite defensive, “Moot the topic of his string of the flops and a negative article in a sure national magazine and the actors reports, it does have a vast effect. It kills the confidents, it’s degrading and embarrassing, but it make me strike back too. Also, every 5 years some magazine or the other writes off the star, before me, they did the same to Hrithik Roshan, and we prove them wrong all the time. ” says the Indian Express article.

Well, if he is preparing to strike back, it will be a welcome break from the sleepwalking we have seen in all his recent projects. It’s difficult to imagine that Abhi had shown some sparks of brilliance when he had acted the conflicted yet endearing Lallan Singh in the movie ‘Yuva’ or the imposing yet blemished Gurukant Desai in the movie ‘Guru’ or the sharp and manipulative Shankar in ‘Srkar’.  Director Mani Ratnam’s movie ‘Raavan’ was one of the most waited movies last year but Abhi just failed to attempt the layered character of Beera. He tired everything from soot to mud and even turmeric to look dangerous and dark but nothing could mask his entire ineptitude as an actor. Even in his latest upcoming movie ‘Game’, he alternated between a maximum of one-a-half expressions as acting the suave casino owner, a cool police or when mourning his dead girlfriend.

Well, here desires that Abhi realizes that just the Bachchan name is not going to be enough and it is about time that he got his act together.

Bindas news :Will Razia edge out Munni and Sheila?

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat’s new item song Razia gundo mein phas gayee in the Anees Bazmee’s movie ‘Thank You’ has been boasted as the  next big thing in Bolywood after Munni Badnaam and Sheila Ki Jawani. Still, most people who have had a glance of the promos, which begins rising last weekend, are rather let down with the picturisation. In spite of Mallika Sherawat’s presence, the song- composed through Pritam. Neither Mallika’s energy from the movie Dabangg-hit song Munni Badnaam, nor does it have the Katrina kaif’s effortless oomph from the movie Tess Maar Khan’s song Sheila Ki Jawani.

Razia has been sung through playback singer Ritu Pathak- a former Indian Idol contestant and Master Saleem. It has been written through rising lyricist Ashish Pandit. Item songs are help in the marketing of a movie in its pre-release stage. They develop hype for the movie and grab eyeballs. The trouble with the song Razia is that, though the song is a winner, the makers have failed to do justice with the song the spirit and mood of the item.

This item number looks like any routine item song. Unfourtunately, the makers of the movie Thank You look to be unaware of this. Of cource, half of the battle is won just because of Mallika Sherawat’s presence. Razia marks the return of Mallika Sherawat on the silver screen after a long time, so the expectations are so high.

Mallika left for an unsuccessful Hollywood tryst after her back to back movie release in the year 2008- Ugly Aur Pagli and Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam flopped. Mallika required a bang to return to Bollywood. Razia is hardly the song that can assure it.

Katrina hit Akshay hard

Yes, it is true that Katrina Kaif has hit Akshay Kumar truly hard but not intentionally. It all happened during the shooting of the film ‘Tees Maar Khan’ when Katrina was filming a song with Akshay. She hit Akki with her elbow.
"We were shooting for the song Bade dilwala and Katrina got so involved in her dance that she actually hit me hard with her elbow. The impact was such that the shooting had to be stalled for two hours," Akshay said.
These days the ‘Tees Maar Khan’ cast is spotted everywhere as the film is ready to hit the theatre. The film is in news for many reasons. Firstly, for Katrina Kaif’s hot number, secondly, the item number of Akki, Salman and Katrina and the final reason that is more in the news is Farah Khan’s casting couch. Bindas Movie : Toonpur ka Superhero movie review

Toonpur ka Superhero’ brings you away from the every day’s hassles, deadline, rising of onion prices. And it makes for a greatjourney with your children. This movie is totally entertainment.

You are most welcome to the full of action packed world of superstar Ajay Devgn as Aditya Kumar whose dangerous stunts are done by his double while he just poses for macho close ups. In this he missed his son Ameya Pandya as Kabeer’s sports day. When he reached at his home-he found that his son Kabeer charging him of being a face hero. He just urged his father to be a real hero.

The other side, far away in Toonpur- toonasurs (baddies) led through Jagaaro are torturing the Devtoos (The good guys). The good gang led by knowledgeable Gyandev and the cute Bollywood fan sikh child, funkey Parsi scientist and it comprises Bolly, Pandu –the police, Big Ben – the rotund Gujju ben serving dhoklas and also hard licking with her rolling pin to her desecrators, Gappy- the frank musician loaded by golden ornaments, Loveena –a Goan lass and Lappy –the geeky South Indian. They are always dagger attracted by the toonasurs led through menacing Jagaaro.

The good toons wanted to be free from the jaggaro and vanquish him, for that they required one superhero to restore peace into Toonpur. The Punjabi boy, Bolly he suggested the name of Aditya Kumar. He is ensured that only his superstar can do it. That’s why the toons ‘kidnap’ Aditya Kumar and take him into the Toonpur.
The toons kidnapped Aditya from his movie set to Toonpur. And when he realized that he is surrounded by the Television toons. But when toons explain their mission, initially he is not believed but after he decided to take it into his hand to redeem himself into the son’s eye.

Aditya ends up facing Jagaaro who is challenge him to play a computer game. The game is jagaaro has artfully kidnapped his wife Kajol as Priya and his two kids. Aditya has to play this game up to three levels in order to save each member. The game increasing difficulty are very interesting and entertaining –especially for the kids.
The original heroes of the movie are the well animated toons. The flawlessly animation is so praiseworthy. It’s of international standers. The toons and their languages tones of each toon are just amazing.

Ajay Devgn is fully convincing in his play in live and in animation part of the movie. Kajol play her role like pizzazz. Ameya Pandya as son is cute.

So enjoy this movie on X’Mas for fun holiday.

Movie Review : Mirch

The promos of Mirch movie had abruptly caught one's eye, thanks to its attention-grabbing promos, which are full of love-making scenes. You’re forewarned at the outset that this movie talks of four adulterous people. But the question is, have not we watched men cheating women in so many movies in the past? Haven't women caught their men with their pants down, in the past? So what's new in Mirch? For a change, the women in Mirch are into adultery. They are the ones who are cheating on their husbands and in each of those stories the woman manages to go scot-free when caught red-handed with her lover.

Was asked a pertinent question while watching this movie: Is the audience matures plenty to handle the portrayal of female sexuality on the screen? Well, first of all, moviegoers are mature enough to understand and laud themes and subjects and Mirch which director Vinay Shukla refers to as a celebration of womanhood, narrates four separate stories based on subject of women emancipation and also dabbles with gender equality in a relationship. It is a sex comedy with generous doses of wit; not a serious take on feminism. Once more, it is erotic in parts, but not vulgar. We have seen lots of movies dealing with male sexuality, but Mirch deals with women's libido and that too in a funny way.

Vinay Shukla’s new effort is structurally quite innovative, something that hasn't been tried yet. However, it wishes to clarify that the four individualistic stories in Mirch are not remotely similar to the Dus Kahaniya, Darna Zaroori Hai, Darna Mana Hai format. There is a fifth story that connects to them.

The first story, from 'Panchtantra', is placed in ancient times, the second is placed inspired by 14th century Italian classic 'The Decameron' by Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio. The third is from an Italian fable set in contemporary times and the fourth has been written by Shukla himself. All stories are Interesting, but the level of interest in those four stories fluctuates radically. The first two stories are wonderful, mainly because the 'games' women play in those stories catches you by complete surprise, the third and fourth stories are a sharp contrast. You feel let down because they're outright predictable and not a patch on the ones that you had watched in the first hour.

Mirchs has two stories in the first half [great] and two stories in the second (disappointing), while the fifth one, which binds all the earlier tales, is a downer as well. Eventually, it falls short of expectations!

Arunoday Singh as Maanav is a struggling writer unwilling to compromise on the script he has written. His girlfriend Konkona Sen Sharma as Ruchi, a successful film editor, arranges for him to meet Sushant Singh as Nitin, a film producer. Nitin likes the script, but is not very sure of its commercial prospects. Maanav then suggests a story from the Panchtantra: A woman Raima Sen is caught red-handed with her lover Arunoday Singh by her husband Rajpal Yadav and yet, she manages to wriggle out of it scot-free.

Nitin loves the story, but finds it too short for a feature movie. Maanav then creates three more stories based on the same premise. In a way, the Panchtantra story travels in different versions to the modern times through the movie. The four stories are woven together by a common story.

There is not much scope for music in Mirch and although there're a couple of tracks, 'Badra' sang by Monty Sharma is easily the best of the lot. It has a haunting tune and its placement in the narrative is appropriate. Also noteworthy are the dialogue, especially in the first two stories.

Mirch stars some of the best names in the business. Konkona is excellent, Raima conveys so much through her expressive eyes, Shahana is wonderful and Ila Arun is first-rate. A major part of the movie is placed on Arunoday Singh's broad shoulders and he stands tall with a natural, good act. Sushant Singh is perfect, Shreyas Talpade is sincere, Rajpal Yadav is earnest, Boman Irani is just right, Prem Chopra is flawless and Tisca Chopra is fiery. Saurabh Shukla shines in a brief role.

Movie review : Band Baaja Baaraat

Band Baaja Baaraat movie is in one line, a love story with just distribution of all the three elements mentioned in the movie title. Yash Raj manages to lose its otherwise squeaky clean packaging to complete to be more realistic. But a there is a warning before you going to your nearest theater to get your ticket for this movie: If you do not like Delhi-ites, this movie could really check your tolerance because everyone acts, speaks and even overplays like a quintessential Delhi locals.

The story is fairly straight-forward without surprises. If you have seen the promos, nothing can say here will assured an eyebrow. Delhi ki girl Anushka Sharma as Shruti meets Saharanpur’s boy Ranveer Singh as Bittoo, accidentally but they are not in love for a long time after knowing each other. They decide to join to become wedding planners for middle-class Delhi-ites who appreciate a full flashy-style wedding. After several weddings, they decide to produce the bar and start servicing big clients, followed by a collage shot of passage of time to represents ringing of the cash register.
But every movie requires a turning point, so after half-time, after much protesting, our lead resisting gives in to their physical desires. Now, this is a sequence that is scene beautifully with aesthetic love making and slow kissing. And what's particularly refreshing is how they have shown 'the-morning-after': the feeling of happiness coupled with every place is sensed in charming light and different. Anyhow, this feeling is short-lived.

The second half of the movie chases like a disable earthworm and waiting for the lead match to realize that they are coping up for each other seems like forever. This wait gets more painful when aloud shaadi songs are thrown on you. Isolated from 'Avayi Avayi' (which will sure become a favorite among shaadis for the next few months), other songs look like earlier rejected compositions. Habib Faisal's dialogues are pretty good with the characterization but may not participate to the film's success. Anushka is her sparkling self and debutant Ranveer makes a convincing 'jat' and the movie pretty good rides on them.

Movie Review : Hisss

If ever real society is to be formed for prevention of cruelty to film, Hisss starting by Mallika Sherawat and directed by Jennifer Lynch, should be its maiden project. The movie is a case study of what all film ought to be.

First of all, a subject like a icchadhari nagin or shape-shifting snake-woman on a vendetta isn’t exactly challenging to make you smash for the nearest theatre. These kinds of movie were making and buried in 1980s film. Where Sridevi twisted in snakelike dances on the Been’s sonorous tunes played by Amrish Puri in the film Nagina.

Now, it is Mallika Sherawat modestly stripping down to her birthday fit to play a revengeful nagin out to search her kidnnaped partner.

An American man named George (Jeff Doucette) is going to search a snake couple with the hope of searching the naagmani that could save him from dying of cancer. He kidnapped a male cobra with the intention of making his female partner, the nagin, with naagmani as redeem to save her partner.

The nagin takes form of human and the next you see is a minimally dressed Mallika Sherawat beginning to find for her missing partner and in the course carrying her own justice by killing the persecutor of women.
Irrfan Khan shocks us with his presence as a cop, who is investigating the strange murders in this freak of a film. Divya Dutt plays Irrfan’s wife. The question that prays to be asked is what ghoul got in these two actors to make them sign Hisss.

Mallika Sherawat glowers, scowls, frowns, and pops out her eyeballs in the name of acting. Of course, she slides with slimy snakes and even kisses one in a scene. The special effects are of the cheapest kind and the direction by Jennifer Lynch is blatant by its absence.
